Our Gas Engineering practice area covers the midstream and downstream aspects of gas supply focusing on: • Pipeline studies and evaluations. We provide expertise for the evaluation of gas transmission systems, local gas distribution systems, gas storage and LNG facilities. Our experience of engineering planning issues and associated economic considerations enables us to provide expert advice on new gas development prospects, system upgrading and expansion. • Technical surveys and due diligence. In addition to the overall evaluation of energy supply systems we provide expert analysis of equipment applications and manufacturers' capabilities, technical developments and innovations. We undertake surveys of existing facilities in order to establish performance and identify enhancement prospects, and undertake due diligence work. • Technical standards and policies. We are able to offer services in support of detailed design, construction and commissioning as well as for active system operations. Our capabilities relating to design and construction activities cover: review of detailed designs; inspection of construction works for compliance with design standards, and for progress monitoring; and hazard and safety evaluations and reviews, relating to system design, construction processes, and commissioning and operating procedures. • Safety and environmental studies and reviews undertaken; including assessments for existing facilities, designation of suitable pipeline and local distribution system routes, and determination of suitable locations for gas-related installations. • Gas utilization. We carry out analysis and evaluation of gas consumption prospects and patterns, covering the whole range from power generation, through industrial and commercial, to domestic usage. We can then advise on likely project viability or recommend business growth strategies. • LNG and LPG technology and systems studies, evaluations and design. Our experience covers all aspects of the LNG chain, export/import facilities technology, shipping technology and logistics, cost estimates and economics, and evaluation of best prospect locations for LNG importation. • Training courses and conferences are designed and run to support the introduction of new systems, technology and standards. |
